Swim Squads
Competitive swimming is a major part of the Brentwood Swimming Club, and with hard work and dedication, we have had great success with swimmers winning medals at National, County and Regional level. We are very proud that one of our swimmers, Roberto Pavoni, competed in the 2012 Olympic Games!
Seahorses
Our Seahorses squad provides the ideal transition from Learn To Swim schemes to competitive swimming. It provides a pathway for swimmers, generally ages 7+, to reach their full potential in swimming, following on from the Learn To Swim stages set by Swim England Aquatic stages 1 - 6.
Age: 7+
Training: 1 session per week (Sunday PM)
Academy Squad
Our introductory squad, where we teach the fundamentals of competitive swimming, based on the 6-levels within the Swim England Club Awards structure.
Age: from 7 years
Training: up to 4 sessions per week
Development Squad
Swimmers start to learn about the fundamentals of British Swimming’s development framework, and are introduced to their first open competitions.
Age: from 9 years
Training: up to 6 sessions per week
Competitive Squad
The competitive squad continues the journey of being a competitive swimmer, building on core skills and stroke distances, with the aim of qualifying for Essex Country and regional level competitions.
Age: from 10 years
Training: up to 8 hours per week
Advanced Competitive Squad
Our current top competitive squad, supporting swimmers as they seek to improve in county and regional competitions and develop further toward national levels.
Age: from 13 years
Training: up to 10 hours per week
Masters Swimming
We also have two levels of masters swimming, competitive and keep fit.
